The Stages In The Life Cycle Of A Hair

• The hair roots shrink to almost 1/3rd of its original size

• The hair gets detached from the follicle and travels upward to the scalp

3^rd PHASE - TELOGEN:

• Also known as the Resting or Shedding phase

• The follicle remains dormant during this phase

• At any given time 10-15 percent of our hair remains in this phase

• This resting phase lasts for about 3-4 months

• At the end of this phase the hair falls off, sometimes on its own, sometimes pushed by newly grown hair

• After this the cycle of a hair starts afresh, thus making it a continuous process
