As hair loss & baldness are problems that have plagued mankind since time immemorial, it is obvious that people kept looking for its solution from ancient times. When going through the historical evidences of hair fall treatments, we come across some outrageously bizarre options tried and tested by people. At the same time, we chance upon some dazzling hair loss solutions.

Here we will enlist a few of the weirdest & outlandish treatments along with some resplendent & extraordinary solutions picked from history.

The Weirdest & Bizarre Hair Loss Solutions Of Yesteryears:

Historical evidences are plenty to show that people tried many combinations, some unthinkable ones too, in their search for effective hair treatment.

  1. Ancient Egyptians & Their Recipe- The most advanced civilization of ancient times somehow flipped in finding ways of hair regrowth. They prepared a concoction of fats taken from Tomcat, Crocodile, Ibex, Hippo, etc. that was recommended for sufferers of hair loss. Unfortunately, not only these, but other strange ideas too, did not bring any relief.
  2. Hippocrates Hilarious Concoction- Hippocrates has earned a name for himself as pioneer of western medicine but his unique combination of beetroot, opium, horseradish, different spices & pigeon droppings was way too off mark to give any positive result in hair loss.
  3. Julius Caesar’s Camouflaging Tactics- Caesar used to hide his receding hairline very smartly by camouflaging it behind Laurel Wreaths.
  4. American Solution With Snake Oil- 19th century America saw a promise of reversing hair loss through use of potion containing snake oil. Without doubt, it was a hoax & never benefited anyone except those who sold it and made lot of quick money.
  5. English Obsession With Tea- Anyone who knows English people, knows about their obsession with Tea. It is one thing considered to work for all ailments & in 19th century they started using cold tea with loads of lemon on their scalp to treat hair fall. Did it work? No, it didn’t, otherwise entire population today would be doing the same!

The Brilliant & Outstanding Hair Loss Solutions Of Yesteryears:

While the list of absurd treatments is numerous, at the same time, there are a few excellent treatments that were used by the ancient people.

  1. Extensive Use Of Wigs & Toupees- The Egyptians, Greeks, French & the English Noblemen used wigs & toupees extensively. These crude versions have been worked on from time to time & today we have the most sophisticated replacement options available in the market.
  2. Revolutionary Thermocap Device- In 20th century a high-tech solution was introduced in the form of Thermocap device by Allied Merke Institute. This bonnet like gadget was placed on the head of hair loss victims & its heat and blue light was supposed to stimulate the hair follicles.

It sadly didn’t get the desirous results but undoubtedly paved way for modern day use of Laser Therapy.
  3. Hair Transplant Initiated By Japan- In early 20th century an entirely new procedure of grafting hair was pioneered by a Japanese Dermatologist. The process was not immensely successful at that time, but it was the beginning of hair transplant procedure, which has come up as the most successful hair treatment today.

Conclusion:

Nothing is achieved in a day, rather it takes years and centuries to master something; these treatments are the stepping stones that has help us invent some very promising treatments.

I am honestly thankful to Advanced Hair Studios. I suffer from a hair-pulling disorder. There is this constant urge to pull off your hair follicles. It is painless when you pull but extremely painful when you see a missing patch on your scalp. But, I feel blessed with AHS hair fall treatment. I can see baby hair growing. It’s been two weeks. All I can see is low hair fall.

I have done my hair transplant surgery in AHS Delhi Branch on 2019 by travelling to Delhi from Dhaka, Bangladesh. The front and the back portion of my head were bald and through the hair transplant surgery, they have managed to cover the front portion of my head and the former appearance of my face returned back. The way they collected hairs from the donor portion did not affect my donor area at all. I am quite happy with my result. I have been consulting with them for a second seating so that they can cover the back portion of my head as well so that the hair density on top will increase and the bald portion of my head will reduce to a minimum level.

Hi all, I had a problem with my hair, and I visited Advanced Hair Studio, Hyderabad. Here, the experts are amazing. My low hair density problem was explained very nicely, and some solutions were suggested. The solutions were fantastic. If you have any such issues, I recommend that you come and make an appointment. There was a lot of care and attention displayed by their staff in handling my hair fall issue. Similarly, the receptionists are both friendly and courteous, and the atmosphere is clean and fresh. This clinic deserves 5 stars.
