Is lack of hair ruining your perfect selfie?

How many times have you had to retake a photo just because your hair wasn’t on point? Most people can get away with a quick adjustment, but imagine if you had to retake the same photo while covering up your receding hairline. How frustrating would that be? If you fall under the same category, then there is no reason for you to settle with your lack of hair. Nowadays, there are numerous hair loss treatments that can help you get your hair back, and capture a perfect selfie. The choice of treatment, however, will vary according to the cause of hair loss.

What leads to hair loss?

What leads to hair loss?

There are many instances where people tend to jump straight to the cure without actually finding out about the cause, or what the disease actually is. The same thing is also applicable to hair loss. People will try out all sorts of remedies without actually knowing about the cause of their hair loss. Treating hair loss before getting a proper medical diagnosis is one way you can actually end up losing all of your hair. All bald spots on the head aren’t the same, as hair loss can be caused by a number of factors. These factors can range from diseases, infections, hereditary conditions, etc. Hence, it is advised that before opting for any drastic measures people should find out about what is causing them to lose hair. Some of the major causes of hair loss are:

Hereditary

Hereditary

Genes play a huge role in deciding what your hair will look like. Genetic predisposition towards hair loss is one of the main reasons why people start to lose their hair. Hereditary hair loss relates to the hair loss patterns of your relatives. If your father, mother or grandparents had to suffer through hair loss, then there is a good chance that you will experience the same.

Diseases or infections

There are many diseases and infections that can lead to hair loss. Autoimmune disease like alopecia areata is one of the most common causes of hair loss in men and women. It leads to bald patches on the head, face and sometimes on other parts of the body. Infections like HPV, syphilis and ringworm can also lead to hair loss.

Dietary habits

Dietary habits

Lack of nutritious diet can lead to a number of health issues, including hair loss.

Hair care

Just like any other part of the body, hair also requires maintenance. Lack of adequate hair care can lead to hair loss down the line. Regular washing and oiling can dramatically reduce, or delay the onset of hair loss.

Stress

Stress

Excessive stress, mental or physical, can lead to numerous problems relating to the overall well being of an individual. Effects of stress include loss of muscle mass, hair loss, skin problems, etc. Hence, it is advised to keep your mental health and physical well being in check. Adding regular exercise to your daily routine can dramatically reduce the adverse effects of stress.

How can you get your hair back?

After finding out about the cause of your hair loss, the next step will be to choose a method to fix it. Different causes of hair loss require different treatment, but after treating the said cause, there is a chance that you will be left with a bald spot. The most common cause for hair loss, in men, is male pattern baldness, and sadly there is no way to cure it. However, there are ways you can stop it or replace the hair that you have lost. There are mainly two methods of hair replacement:

1. Surgical hair replacement or hair regrowth

Hair transplantation is one of the most widely used hair growth procedures used by both men and women to cover bald spots on head. There are two main methods of hair transplantation

Follicular Unit Extraction (FUE): Under this, individual hair follicles are extracted from the back of the head using a tiny punch device. The extraction is done following a sparse layout, which allows for better look after the procedure.

Follicular Unit Extraction

Follicular Unit Transplantation

Follicular Unit Transplantation (FUT): In this method of hair transplantation, a narrow strip of hair is surgically removed. After removal, individual hair follicles from the strip of hair are separated and then are grafted to the balding area. This method leaves a minor scar, but the look is subdued as the parts of hair which are located above and below the excision are brought closer and are sutured.

2. Non-surgical hair replacement or hair regrowth

Surgical methods of hair replacement are effective, but are not always needed. However, there are some non invasive methods that people can opt for. Some of the most common non-surgical methods of hair replacements used locally are:

Medication: Minoxidil and Finasteride are amongst the most popular drugs that have shown positive results in terms of hair regrowth.

Low-level laser treatment

Low-level laser treatment (LLLT): Laser treatment is a fairly new method of hair regrowth. The premise behind this procedure is increase of blood flow and stimulation of hair follicles. LLLT was approved by the Food and Drug Administration of the USA in 2007 for use in men. The same was approved for use in women in 2011.

Wigs and hair patches: These methods of hair replacement are used to cover the bald areas of the head with natural or synthetic fibres. Nowadays you can find quality wigs in Bangalore, or any other major city in India. Same goes for hair fixing or a hair patch.

I am honestly thankful to Advanced Hair Studios. I suffer from a hair-pulling disorder. There is this constant urge to pull off your hair follicles. It is painless when you pull but extremely painful when you see a missing patch on your scalp. But, I feel blessed with AHS hair fall treatment. I can see baby hair growing. It’s been two weeks. All I can see is low hair fall.

I have done my hair transplant surgery in AHS Delhi Branch on 2019 by travelling to Delhi from Dhaka, Bangladesh. The front and the back portion of my head were bald and through the hair transplant surgery, they have managed to cover the front portion of my head and the former appearance of my face returned back. The way they collected hairs from the donor portion did not affect my donor area at all. I am quite happy with my result. I have been consulting with them for a second seating so that they can cover the back portion of my head as well so that the hair density on top will increase and the bald portion of my head will reduce to a minimum level.

My low hair density problem was explained very nicely, and some solutions were suggested. The solutions were fantastic. If you have any such issues, I recommend that you come and make an appointment. There was a lot of care and attention displayed by their staff in handling my hair fall issue. Similarly, the receptionists are both friendly and courteous, and the atmosphere is clean and fresh. This clinic deserves 5 stars.
