In the fast-paced world today, a number of lifestyle habits, in combination with a range of environmental factors, can lead to hair loss. These problems can start with a mild hair-fall, which is often ignored by people, and in some instances they can also cause baldness. Therefore, hair-fall, and other problems associated with hair, should be treated with seriousness just like any other medical condition. If left untreated, hair loss can severely affect a person’s looks, and can also cause perpetual embarrassment, inhibiting him/her from engaging in social circles and enjoying a healthy social life.

As you would know, malpractices related to diet, and environmental factors like pollution, are the main reasons why people experience loss of hair. However, there are other factors, which have a bearing on this issue. These factors alone, or in conjunction with each other affect an overwhelming number of populous these days. Following are some of the prevalent medical reasons for hair loss amongst people.

Alopecia Areata

Alopecia Areata

Alopecia Areata, an autoimmune disorder, often causes hair loss in such a manner which can’t be predicted. Affecting millions across the globe today, the disorder can affect hair in small patches to be severe to the extent of causing complete baldness on the scalp. Sometimes, recognised as a hereditary problem, this is a condition which can possibly affect anyone irrespective of their age and sex, with a majority of cases being noticed amongst people below the age of 30 years.

A number of instances have been found where the chances of someone getting affected by the condition are higher when a family member has already been affected by it.

Alopecia is such a condition which can in extreme cases develop just over a number of a few days, often leaving the affected person very little time to get any medical help. As is often found in various researches around the world, stress is one of the root problems of many serious issues affecting people today, similar is the case with Alopecia, which is often caused by stress. Undue mental and physical stress can cause certain imbalances in the body, which often manifests in the form of conditions like Alopecia. At present, there is no permanent cure for the hair condition.

Thyroid disease

Thyroid disease

In the list of common diseases that affect millions around the world, thyroid features prominently which is caused by an abnormality in the thyroid gland which produces too little or too much of certain hormones.

Thyroid which has 2 types – Hypothyroidism and Hyperthyroidism has symptoms such as weight loss/gain, fatigue, nervousness, etc. However, thyroid is also associated with hair loss. If thyroid remains untreated for a long time and grows to be severe, it can directly affect the patient’s hair, causing them to fall. Disruption in hormone production causes imbalances in other body processes which have a direct impact on existing which fall while the growth of new hair is also impaired. This can even cause thinning or body areas such as the eyebrows.

Unfortunately, drugs such as Carbimazole and Propylthiouracil which are often used to treat thyroid, may also prove to be the reason behind thinning of hair and in rare cases, hair loss as well.

The relief however is that hair loss caused by thyroid is often temporary and can be cured with the use of certain medications. It is important to have regular check-ups and monitor the hormone levels, while also taking medication as prescribed by your doctor.

Scalp Infection

Scalp Infection

Other than Alopecia and Thyroid, infection on scalp such as ringworm is also one of the reasons why many people experience hair loss. In medical terms, known as ‘tinea capitis’, the ringworm of the scalp is a fungal infection which makes deep penetration into the hair shaft. It is often accompanied by itchiness on the scalp. The highly contagious is usually found affecting young children with symptoms such as dry, scaly rash and black dots on the scalp.

Scalp infections also manifests in the form of other types of infection such as Psoriasis, Folliculitis, Lichen planopilaris and other allergic reactions.

As discussed above, we now know that for a variety of reasons, many people can experience hair loss which can even cause baldness. There are a number of clinics in the market today which specialise in providing hair loss solutions including treatment for baldness. Advanced Hair Studio is a pioneer in the field which has a number of state-of-the-art hair studios in a number of countries around the world.

Hair loss can start with lack of vitamins, iron and zinc in the diet, while in other cases it can be genetic.

Hair loss and cancer

Hair loss and cancer

Hair loss as a side-effect of chemotherapy conducted to cure cancer is usually observed, however, thinning hair line can sometimes prove to be a symptom of certain types of cancer. One such rare type of cancer is Hodgkin’s lymphoma which originates in the lymphatic system of the patient.

Some of the commonly observed symptoms of the possibly fatal condition are – painless swelling in the lymph nodes in the neck, armpits or groin, which often manifest in combination with fever and persistent fatigue.

In such possible cases, the affected person may experience a significant hair loss with further symptoms such as neck pain, skin flushing and excessive sweating.

Solution to hair loss problems

Solution to hair loss problems

Typically, treatment for hair loss problems is started with medication, which include both types of medication that you need to take orally along with medication that you need to apply on the scalp. However, such a treatment may often take a significant amount of time before you notice any visible and encouraging results. While in other severe cases such as baldness, you may be left with little choice but to go for a surgery such as hair transplant.

Talking about surgery, it is imperative to find a clinic which has a good experience in providing hair treatment. For this purpose, Advanced Hair Studio is probably the best choice as they have a team of experienced surgeons who specialise in providing a variety of hair treatments, including the distinct patented procedures exclusively provided by AHS in the field.

I am honestly thankful to Advanced Hair Studios. I suffer from a hair-pulling disorder. There is this constant urge to pull off your hair follicles. It is painless when you pull but extremely painful when you see a missing patch on your scalp. But, I feel blessed with AHS hair fall treatment. I can see baby hair growing. It’s been two weeks. All I can see is low hair fall.

I have done my hair transplant surgery in AHS Delhi Branch on 2019 by travelling to Delhi from Dhaka, Bangladesh. The front and the back portion of my head were bald and through the hair transplant surgery, they have managed to cover the front portion of my head and the former appearance of my face returned back. The way they collected hairs from the donor portion did not affect my donor area at all. I am quite happy with my result. I have been consulting with them for a second seating so that they can cover the back portion of my head as well so that the hair density on top will increase and the bald portion of my head will reduce to a minimum level.

Hi all, I had a problem with my hair, and I visited Advanced Hair Studio, Hyderabad. Here, the experts are amazing. My low hair density problem was explained very nicely, and some solutions were suggested. The solutions were fantastic. If you have any such issues, I recommend that you come and make an appointment. There was a lot of care and attention displayed by their staff in handling my hair fall issue. Similarly, the receptionists are both friendly and courteous, and the atmosphere is clean and fresh. This clinic deserves 5 stars.
