5 Ways You Can Protect your Hair During Monsoons!

  • 16 July 2018

With the onset of the monsoons, you may find yourself thinking twice before you step out of the house. This high-on-humidity weather is the main reason behind hair fall. During this weather, your hair absorbs hydrogen, forming bonds and swells until the smooth cuticle erupts to make them frizzy. You can take care of your hair by following some simple and everyday small things which are otherwise ignored. Here are a few hair care tips by Advanced Hair Studio.

1.Thorough cleansing of hair - Shampoo your hair immediately once you are exposed to rain. Rain water left on the scalp for long can make your hair susceptible to fungal and bacterial infections leading to dandruff, itchy scalp and hair patch. Keeping the hair clean will help you keep it healthy and tangle free. Wash your hair with a mild shampoo to cleanse your hair and get rid of pollutants and toxins which were collected in your hair. Damp humid weather also secretes a lot of sweat which attracts dirt and grime resulting in hair woes.

2.Adopt a holistic diet - Go easy on junk food as it leads to hair loss. Reduce the caffeine intake because it dehydrates and causes hair fall. Intake of fresh fruits, leafy vegetables, protein rich foods and whole grains is an effective hair loss solution in the rainy season. Most importantly, drink at least 8-12 glasses of water during the course of the day.

3.Opt for a conditioner - A rich conditioner is a must to fight the frizz which the rain showers bring. Choose a conditioner which nourishes, strengthens and protects the hair against hair fall. When applying a conditioner, use a wide-tooth comb to spread it well. Remember to rinse it with cold water for extra shine.

4.Oiling - Oil your hair but massage gently to avoid breakage. Once or twice a week is good for nourishment. Doing more often is not recommended as your scalp is already oily due to the weather. After all, nothing is as good for your hair during the monsoon as a good old hair oil massage. It naturally boosts the moisture in your hair which revitalizes the dry strands.

5.Keep the hair dry - Wet hair are weak and prone to breakage. Always dry your hair gently and comb it with a wide-toothed comb. Avoid using heating hair equipments as they make the hair even more dry and tough during the monsoons.

With these simple tips by Advanced Hair Studio, hair care in rainy season should be a breeze for you!
