Irrespective of your gender, age, and ethnicity, baldness can affect you. Even after years of experimentation, finding a cure for baldness is a far-fetched dream. Thankfully, there are a few things that you can do to prevent it.

Many believe that nature holds the answer to baldness. The use of hibiscus flowers as a natural remedy for hair growth is not a new phenomenon. In this blog, we will explore the benefits of the hibiscus flower for hair.

What is Baldness and its Causes?

Before you start using any natural ingredient, you need to understand how experts see baldness. The medical term for baldness is alopecia. It is the sudden and smooth loss of hair. It usually occurs in circular patches. In a generic term, it is the permanent loss of hair.

On average, a healthy individual sheds 50-100 strands of hair. These strands are in the last stage of the hair cycle. It is normal and it is regarded as shedding and not hair fall. Shedding does not lead to balding but prolonged hair fall does.

This hair fall can be due to a number of reasons – hereditary being the most common factor. If the root cause of your hair fall is not an underlying health condition, it could be treated with natural ingredients like hibiscus oil. To prevent balding, you need to start taking precautions when your hair fall begins.

Many people resort to chemical-rich products to prevent balding because natural remedies are not as quick. However, one must try to rely on natural products as much as possible as they are good for you in the long run. Read more to know how you can use hibiscus for hair growth.

Benefits of Hibiscus Oil for Your Hair

Nature’s bounty has a lot of natural remedies for hair fall. Hibiscus flower is one such ingredient that is good for hair and easily accessible. As a hair fall treatment, it is most effective in the form of oil. Here are the benefits of hibiscus oil for hair:

  1. Rich in Vitamin C: Hair fall is often caused due to a deficiency of some vitamins and minerals. You need Vitamin C to strengthen your hair strands and roots. Hibiscus oil is good for hair fall as it is rich in Vitamin C. Regular use of it will make your hair grow stronger.
  2. Amino Acid Bounty: Amino acids are responsible for maintaining the luster and shine of your hair. Lack of amino acids can make your hair brittle and cause breakage. Hibiscus oil will nourish and strengthen your hair, protecting them against the dry air.
  3. Stimulates Hair Regrowth: Hibiscus oil is excellent for hair regrowth. It stimulates the dormant hair follicles and promotes hair regrowth. It has shown positive results on bald patches as well. You can use it for adding volume to your hair.
  4. Fights Dandruff: You can use hibiscus for dandruff. It shows promising results on dry and itchy scalp. Keep in mind that a dry scalp often proves as a hurdle in hair growth. Dead skin and flakiness makes it difficult for the hair follicles to do their work properly.
  5. Prevents Premature Graying: Hibiscus oil has all the essential nutrients that can prevent your hair from premature graying. It is also a good conditioner. Instead of those chemical-rich conditioners, try hibiscus oil for naturally smooth and shiny hair.

Ways to Use Hibiscus Flower on Hair

It is fair to say that hibiscus oil has numerous benefits for hair. Natural remedies may take time in showing results but the end result will be permanent. If you are facing hair fall, you should consider giving this oil a try. This is how you can incorporate it into your hair care routine:

1. Hibiscus Infused Oil

Oiling is an essential part of a wholesome hair care routine. Take this up a notch by using hibiscus infused oil. Take 7-8 hibiscus flowers and leaves. Wash and dry them before making a paste of these ingredients.

Now in a pan, take a cup of coconut oil and pour the hibiscus paste into it. Heat it for a few minutes and let it cool. Once the oil is at room temperature, massage your scalp with it. Leave the oil on your hair for at least 30 minutes and wash off as usual. This will nourish your hair and make your locks look shiny.

2. Hibiscus Hair Mask

You can use hibiscus for hair in the form of a hair mask. Grind together one hibiscus flower and a few leaves. Mix it in 4 tablespoons of yogurt. Apply the hair mask generously on your hair and scalp and leave it on for a good 30 minutes.

Rinse it off with lukewarm water. You can apply this mask to your hair once or twice a week. This hair mask is packed with a lot of protein. It will make your hair stronger and prevent further hair fall.

3. Hibiscus Anti-Dandruff Hair Pack

Soak overnight a tablespoon of fenugreek seeds in water. Grind the soaked seeds with a bunch of hibiscus leaves. Make sure that the paste has a fine consistency. Mix it with ¼ cup of buttermilk. Apply it to your scalp and hair.

After one hour, wash it off with a mild shampoo. Both fenugreek and hibiscus have anti-dandruff properties. If you have been battling dry and itchy scalp, this hair pack will definitely help you.

4. Hibiscus Shampoo

Take 5 hibiscus flowers and approximately 15 leaves and boil them in water for 5 minutes. Once the mixture has cooled down, add 1 tablespoon gram flour and use it as a shampoo. This is a chemical-free shampoo that you can use regularly.

For this hair shampoo, you can even use dried hibiscus flowers. Instead of looking for an expensive SLS and paraben, you can make your own shampoo and use it generously.

5. Hibiscus Conditioner

Crush a few hibiscus flowers and grind them with some water. Add enough water to get conditioner-like consistency. After washing your hair, apply this conditioner on your hair. As this conditioner is chemical-free, you can apply it on your scalp as well. Rinse with water after a few minutes.

6. Hibiscus Deep Conditioning Mask

Take 2 tablespoons each of crushed hibiscus petals, coconut milk, and yoghurt along with 4 tablespoons of aloe vera juice and grind everything together. Make sure that the pack has a thick consistency. Apply it generously on the hair and let it sit for at least an hour.

It is a deep-conditioning pack that is great for people with dull hair. It will add a new life to your hair. It is a good hair mask for colored and chemically-treated hair as well.

7. Hibiscus Hair Regrowth Tonic

Mix together 3 tablespoons of ginger juice and 2 tablespoons of crushed hibiscus flower petals. Let the solution sit for some time. In sections of your hair, apply a few drops of this tonic on your scalp and massage. Start from the roots and make your way to the hair tips.

After leaving it on for an hour, rinse it off with lukewarm water. You can use this tonic twice a week. Both ginger and hibiscus have good hair regrowth properties. This hair tonic is very simple, yet effective.

8. Hibiscus Oil Control Mask

Mix together two egg whites with 3 tablespoons of crushed hibiscus flower. Apply the mask generously on your scalp and hair and rinse after 30 minutes. Follow it up with a mild shampoo. You can use this hair mask once a week. If you have a really oily scalp, this mask will help you as it brings the pH of your scalp back to normal.

I am honestly thankful to Advanced Hair Studios. I suffer from a hair-pulling disorder. There is this constant urge to pull off your hair follicles. It is painless when you pull but extremely painful when you see a missing patch on your scalp. But, I feel blessed with AHS hair fall treatment. I can see baby hair growing. It’s been two weeks. All I can see is low hair fall.

I have done my hair transplant surgery in AHS Delhi Branch on 2019 by travelling to Delhi from Dhaka, Bangladesh. The front and the back portion of my head were bald and through the hair transplant surgery, they have managed to cover the front portion of my head and the former appearance of my face returned back. The way they collected hairs from the donor portion did not affect my donor area at all. I am quite happy with my result. I have been consulting with them for a second seating so that they can cover the back portion of my head as well so that the hair density on top will increase and the bald portion of my head will reduce to a minimum level.
